LEARNING OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to: Review the technology of ultrasound imaging; Demonstrate the imaging characteristics of thyroid nodules and diffuse thyroid disorders; Perform diagnostic thyroid ultrasound imaging and identify normal neck anatomy; Perform ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsies using a simulated model; Review indications for ultrasound examination of cervical lymph nodes in thyroid cancer patients; Demonstrate the imaging procedure; Discuss and illustrate the imaging characteristics of benign and malignant lymph nodes and parathyroid adenomas; and Practice slide preparation and cytology specimen interpretation.
