Description
This workshop will focus on how to foster individual and family quality of life by navigating systems in the U.S. to access funding sources including Medicaid, Social Security Income, Social Security Disability Insurance, and employment-related support (Vocational Rehabilitation, Ticket to Work Program, Work Force Investment Act, One-Stop Career Center, and Client Assistance Programs). These funding sources will be described within the context of how they enabled an adult with severe autism to experience independent living, economic self-sufficiency, and community participation. Links will be provided to top-tier resources to expand an indepth understanding of putting together the “nuts and bolts” leading to inclusive adult living.
