Outline of Presentation:

Medication can be one of the tools used to assist some individuals with autism spectrum disorders to cope more effectively. This workshop will review the most common core and associated symptoms that individuals with ASD experience, the medications most commonly used in treating such symptoms, the indications and contraindications for each medication and the critical importance of matching the most suitable medication to the specific symptom domain.

Current research on efficacy and side effects of specific medications will be highlighted.
