Gary Breuer, Vice President, Revenue Cycle, Alexian Brothers Health System
Gary Breuer is the Vice President of Revenue Cycle and Best Practices at Alexian Brothers Health System. He has twenty years of healthcare and revenue cycle operations experience.
Gary has been at Alexian Brothers Health System the last five years. He implemented a combined Patient Financial Services office to serve all hospitals and reduced days in A/R from 65 to 40. Gary recently managed a comprehensive Revenue Cycle improvement project which generated $10 million in annual recurring benefits and represented 20% of a system-wide turn-around effort. Gary also recently co-lead Alexian's $23 million software system replacement project to implement Meditech throughout all the hospitals.
Gary was a Senior Manager in Healthcare Consulting at Arthur Andersen, and then at BearingPoint, focusing on revenue cycle operations and system installation projects for a wide variety of healthcare, government and consumer products clients.
Gary has a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois and a MBA from Northwesterns Kellogg School of Management.

Description
Point of Service Cash Collection and Charge Capture projects implemented in 2008-2009 through two key Revenue Cycle projects targeted to assist in a system-wide financial turnaround. The Revenue Cycle generated net benefits of $7.8 M in 2008 and is on track for $10.1 M in 2009 across two acute care facilities.
