Deanna Lombardi is a Teacher-Librarian and Grade 5 Teacher in the York Catholic District School Board in Toronto, Canada. She has a Masters Degree in Education from Niagara University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University. She is a huge Harry Potter fan and uses the Harry Potter books as novel studies in her grade 5 classroom. She was interviewed by CTV News when they visited her Library in November 2005 regarding the movie release of GOF. She was also featured in a Toronto Star newspaper article on July 27, 2006, in recognition for attending the Lumos Conference in Las Vegas last year.

Description
The Harry Potter phenomenon will be examined from a teacher's perspective. The focus of this presentation will be; what the Harry Potter books promote, the many ways to use the books in the classroom, and how to structure a Harry Potter novel study unit for junior grades (4-6).
