Harry Potter 101: Legitimizing Potter Courses in Colleges (50 minutes), Cathy Leogrande - Are college courses related to Harry Potter rigorous, or merely an example of pandering to students by offering "fluff" courses on trivial material? This session explores how Rowling's novels and related resources have been effectively integrated into higher education curricula. The syllabus from Harry Potter: Multidisciplinary Perspectives, a graduate course in its eighth year, along with an annotated bibliography, will be shared.
