Description
Harry Potter 101: Legitimizing Potter Courses in Colleges (50 minutes), Cathy Leogrande - Are college courses related to Harry Potter rigorous, or merely an example of pandering to students by offering "fluff" courses on trivial material? Potter-related courses often have a difficult time finding a home in higher education. This session explores how Rowling's novels and related resources have been effectively integrated into higher education curricula. The syllabus from Harry Potter: Multidisciplinary Perspectives, a graduate course in its eighth year, along with an annotated bibliography, will be shared.
