Gary Kerney has been with Property Claim Services (PCS) since 1981. During that time, he has been responsible for catastrophe identification, loss estimating, and catastrophe response and mitigation activities. He manages PCS divisional operations while remaining involved with catastrophe issues affecting both the private and public sectors. PCS is a unit of the Insurance Services Offices, Inc. PCS interacts with over 1,000 insurance and reinsurance companies around the world. PCS specializes in catastrophe loss adjustment issues and other matters involving the property insurance business. With wide ranging insurance expertise in catastrophe response and recovery, Gary is distinctively qualified to provide commentary and analysis on important industry issues such as understanding risk, mitigation, and stake holder expectationsThrough these associations and other opportunities, Gary has had many occasions to address pre- and post-catastrophe issues affecting the private and public sectors. Gary has authored numerous articles on catastrophe related subjects.

Description
Post disaster economic recovery is fueled in a major way from idemnity payments made by insurers. Insurers pay billions each year to help homeowners and businessowners recover and rebuild. Their rold should be welcomed and understood.
