Liz Granger is responsible for the development and implementation of the Enterprise Resiliency Program for all US-based Visa facilities. Located in Foster City, California, Liz oversees everything from low level emergencies that engage their Emergency Response Teams up to the activation of Visa’s Crisis Management Teams and related Emergency Operations Centers.Liz also chairs Visa’s Global Business Continuity Working Group, which includes membership from all Visa Regions. Visa, being the largest sponsor of the Rugby World Cup and Olympics; has provided Liz the opportunity to work with diverse global teams to develop and test crisis management plans for each of the events.Liz holds a B.A. and an MBA from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California. She is also a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP). She also established (with Chief Reaves help) and chairs the San Mateo County Corporate Emergency Preparedness Form and is a member of the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services Emergency Partnership Advisory Work Group.

Foster City Fire Chief Tom Reaves has over 22 years of experience in the fire service, including fire operations, fire prevention, paramedic services and fire management. He is a certified Chief Officer and holds a BA degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco. Chief Reaves was hired as a Battalion Chief with the City in 1998, promoted to Assistant Chief in 2002 and finally Fire Chief in September 2003. Previously, he served with the South San Francisco and Brisbane Fire Departments.

This is Part Two of Regina Phelps' "How to Implement Pandemic Planning into YOUR Organization." Come and Learn first hand how Foster City Fire Department and Visa took the lead in developing the San Mateo County Emergency Preparedness Forum to ensure the county can respond and recover efficiently and effectively in the event of a pandemic or a disaster. Liz Granger, Director of Enterprise Resiliency for Visa, and Tom Reaves, Foster City Fire Chief, will use real life excercise examples and key learnings in their discussion, as well as provide you with a road map to make it happen in your City/County!
