Bill Lowe is an associate professor of emergency management with Jacksonville State University (Alabama). Bill had a doctorate in business administration, a post-doctorate in marketing, and a graduate certificate in disaster science. Bill has more than 28 years of experience as a career fire department captain/shift supervisor with a large southeastern United States fire department. He is a graduate of the prestigious Department of Homeland Security’s National Fire Academy’s four-year Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Fellowship. Bill was selected in a peer reviewed process as the 1998 National Paramedic of the Year, and is a regular author/presenter of fire service and emergency medical service conference sessions and magazine articles.

Description
This session will offer participants a comprehensive review of both the literature and the presenter's more than 28 years of experience leading emergency respone presonnel. Strategies to increase the commitment of highly trained and experience emergency management responders will be provided.
