Description
Unit Based Joint Practice Teams: Parents as Partners on Unit-Level Multi-Disciplinary Leadership Teams

Believing that clinicians and families who are engaged, empowered, and heard are the greatest resource for improving quality and safety, a new unit level governance structure was initiated at St. Louis Children’s Hospital which includes families as partners.

The Power of Families on Hospital Boards of Trustees in Propelling Quality and Safety Initiatives Forward

Including carefully-chosen and well-prepared families at the highest levels of governance within a hospital can propel quality and safety initiatives forward powerfully. It will also show the entire organization that it must integrate families in decision-making.
