Description
This presentation will discuss the advancement of familycentred care in children’s hospitals in Australia at the local and national level. We will share the experience of the rocky road leading to a successful consumer council in partnership with staff in one of the largest children’s hospitals in Australia and the excellent outcomes that this group is now achieving. Also, we will describe the establishment of a national group with an interest and role in implementing family-centred care in children’s hospitals around Australia and share some of our achievements and experiences along the journey of advancing family-centred care.
