Over the past 15 years, families who experience an unexpected birth outcome are changed forever. Their needs are real and the hospital becomes their home for days to months. Improving their hospital experience must be the goal of each caregiver.
Pioneering Family-Professional Partnership to Promote Patient- and Family-Centered Care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of a Community Hospital
We will share a story of the development of a Parent Advisory Council to build a partnering professional families relationship that supports patient- and family-centered care in a hospital unit, and will include information about goals, measures, changes, tools, results, barriers, and lessons learned.
