This presentation examines the process used to develop standard practice enabling family presence during trauma resuscitation. The collaboration process included trauma staff attitude assessments, family advisors involved in team discussions, Plan-Do-Check-Act concepts, and ongoing evaluation and data gathering.Infusing the Family in Decisions to Start or Stop Resuscitations

The needs of the family in resuscitations cannot be separated from the moral, ethical, and clinical dilemmas that clinicians face. This interactive presentation will review resuscitation controversies, and will present the pros and cons of valid, yet sometimes opposing viewpoints.
