Description
Shift Change Report at Bedside: A Partnership with Families

It’s seven o’clock. Do you know where your nurses are? Often patients and families are alone for lengthy periods of time as nurses end one shift and begin another. Staff and families partnered to improve safety during this critical time.

Creating a Healing Environment Through Visitation Policy Revision

We did not have a process to distinguish general visitation from family presence. Collaboration led to policy revision identifying “family” and encouraging presence and participation. Now, families and staff have the structure necessary to maintain safety and promote institutionwide unity.
