Families as Educators: A Unique Contribution

The NICU is a highly stressful environment where families struggle with the crisis of having a sick newborn. Graduate families are in a unique position to promote staff understanding of the stress experienced and to educate them in effective communication.

Interprofessional Education for Collaborative Patient and Family-Centred Care

This presentation will describe the process and outcomes of a collaborative initiative including health professionals and patient and family advisors to create and deliver an educational intervention aimed at improving professional team and patient and family communication and collaboration.
