Understanding Partnership Roles in Family- Centered Care

This study explored how school-age children understand their partnership role in family-centered care regarding their chronic illness. Children want to learn how to be active members of their health care team so that they may develop competence in collaborative self-care.

Assessing Family Management for Families of Children with Chronic Conditions

A researcher, clinician, and parent will dialogue about two case presentations that reflect families with very different management patterns to help clinicians select more appropriate teaching parameters (e.g., timing and content)and increase families’ abilities to carry out care requirements.
