Description
Day Procedures for Children Requiring Lumbar Puncture and Bone Marrow Aspiration Improvements in Safety and Quality Have Been Driven by Parent Feedback: Family Centred Care in Action

We have shown tangible, sustainable change and benefit to our clinical program in a children’s hospital day surgery setting by listening to what families told us about their experiences and partnering with them to use this feedback to improve service.

Parents Are Welcomed and Well-Prepared to go into the Operating Room During Anaesthetic Induction

All children having surgery may have a parent come into the operating room with them to provide support, help them onto the operating room bed, assume a “Hug and Hold” comfort position, and coach their child during the anesthetic process.
