Susan Bukata, MD is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Rochester. She is an practicing orthopaedic surgeon in the areas of musculoskeletal oncology, metabolic bone diseases, and geriatric trauma. She is the clinical director of the Center for Bone Health at the University of Rochester and a member of the Musculoskeltal research center. Her research focuses on the causes of and treatments for impaired fracture healing.

Description
Attendees at this session will better understand the etiology of subtrochanteric fractures. Current research on these fractures and their link to certain drugs will be reviewed. Strategies for patient counseling will be discussed.
