Description
Students with disabilities face a unique set of challenges in navigating the path to jobs, internships, and other career opportunities in a competitive job market. They must learn to work within complex social service systems while dealing with employer fears and misperceptions about their abilities. Both career services and disability services offices play a valuable role in providing guidance for these students and can help them navigate the maze of career options and successfully make the transition from college to career. In this interactive presentation you will learn how to work with students on such topics as disability disclosure, accommodations, job interviews, and where to find model employers. Come away with valuable tools and resources for internships, federal employment, job accommodations, and guidance on disclosure.
