Description
Developing the employability of a 'diverse' student body is a challenge that educational institutions across the world are seeking to address. Despite many regional ethnic and cultural variations we all share a common need to develop strategies to help our students to showcase their talents to employers. In this session two careers professionals will facilitate an interactive workshop which will explore the benefits and the business case of working with a diverse and international student body and offer advice on 'selling diversity' to employers. The workshop will address: •Innovative approaches to employer engagement from within a London based university that has been recognised as a leader in the field of diversity both within the UK and across Europe. •Strategic approaches to embedding employability within a diverse institution in terms of staff and student profile •Different approaches to diversity (targeted work versus an integral approach) and participants will leave armed with a toolkit of activities to take back to their institutions.
