Track : April 8, 2010
Program Code: BD019
Date: Thursday, April 8, 2010
Time: 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM  EST
Location: 205B
SPEAKER (S):
Karen Barreras
Rev. Honesto Agustin
Description
Father Honesto Agustin believes Catholic Schools are facing two major challenges: keeping our schools “Catholic,” and hard economic times. Little Flower School in Reno, Nevada, is no exception. In light of our challenges, we focus on effective board leadership to nourish and strengthen our school. An example of our board’s work is the prudent management of resources to accomplish our goals of facility improvement and increasing faculty salaries while keeping tuition affordable. This was done while keeping all costs down and program improvements up. The board focuses on the mission, prayer, a common vision, recruitment with a purpose, a specific agenda, and respect for time and each other, developing a strategic and adaptable five-year plan, and providing ongoing board education. This session will provide specific and practical information that can help your board’s effectiveness in strengthening all aspects of your school.
