Depression impairs the outlook and energy of school-aged minors, parents, teachers, and administrators, and it can be a cause of death. Depression impairs our abilities to hear the Gospel and to learn and teach effectively. How do we recognize depression? How does treatment work (including medication when circumstances warrant it), and does the school/parish have a role to play in recovery? Are there religious/theological/catechetical opportunities in dealing with this disorder? Audience questions are welcomed.
