Description
Recruiting and retaining good teachers is becoming more challenging each academic year. Teachers come to our schools with varying levels of teaching experience, mastery of their content, and understanding of our Mission and Catholic Identity. Teacher induction programs are essential in supporting our faculty members as they begin their ministry as Catholic educators. In this session, participants will be briefly introduced to portions of foundational research on teacher induction. The emphasis will be placed on how schools can develop and implement cost effective, research-based, mission driven strategies, which promote competency, collegiality, culture, and community within our schools. This session is designed to challenge administrators, department chairs, and teacher leaders to develop formal teacher induction programs that contribute to faculty and student formation.
