Description
Changes in the financial services industry have heightened the interest in enterprise risk management (ERM). Management is starting to develop new ways to examine financial risks holistically in an integrated, company-wide model. Insurance industry analysts are asking questions about how well companies understand the totality of risks to which they are exposed.

Panelists discuss issues involved in the implementation and understanding of ERM. Topics include:

• Quantification of risk exposures and diversification benefits, including insurable and financial risk
• Modeling risk on a company-wide basis
• Considerations in addressing non-financial risk
• Industry analysts' view of ERM and how they use it to help evaluate companies
• Covariance of risk and offsets provided

At the conclusion of this session, participants have an understanding of how ERM is evolving within the insurance industry. This will enable them to help develop ERM frameworks and processes that might suit their companies best.
