Description
Embedded values are being reported in the United States, both internally and externally, by a growing number of companies. While required by companies with European parents, many U.S. companies are also reporting embedded values as an alternative method of measuring financial results. Embedded value can be used to help management make important decisions about how a company should deploy its capital, directing the company away from products or lines of business that are destroying value and moving it toward those that are adding value.
In this teaching session, you'll have the opportunity to learn about practical aspects of embedded value reporting and conceptual considerations related to the new European Embedded Value guidelines.
Knowledgeable panelists will explore topics to include:
• Performing and interpreting variance analysis
• New business value determination
• Setting the discount rate
• Assumption setting (assets and liabilities)
• Stochastic embedded value calculations
• Impact of recent valuation pronouncements
At the end of this session, attendees will have an enhanced understanding of some of the practical and theoretical issues associated with embedded value reporting.
