Description
This panel discussion will feature measurement experts discussing latest policy activity around value based purchasing in health reform, DMAA guideline measurement, HEDIS/NCQA, medical home, comparative effectiveness, etc. Speakers will provide an overview of the importance of outcomes measurement and its implications across the health care ecosystem. The session will focus on defining value in health care, highlighting why it is getting so much attention today, trace its history and future U.S. evolution, provide lessons learned from other countries’ evidence-based medicine/comparative effectiveness activities and case studies examining the similarities/differences across nations. Key takeaways from this session will include:

• an update on outcomes measurement activities,
• an understanding of the health reform implication of association with comparative effectiveness which has the potential to be one of the most disruptive components of health reform,
• information on the outcomes measurement, which creates both challenges and opportunities for the healthcare industry and
