Description
Short-term disability is often seen as a simple product, but it can be quite complex. Overinsurance can be a problem due to the presence of sick pay and other sources of income during a claim and maternity risk can be challenging to price and manage. This session will examine a range of risk issues unique to short-term disability insurance as it is offered in employer-paid, voluntary and worksite programs. The speakers will address issues such as pricing, underwriting, plan design and claim management - all of which are closely related for this increasingly visible and important product.
