Description
All risks can be fit to a statistical distribution. Fortunately for the human population, this is hard to do as
severe events do not occur regularly and recorded history does not provide enough data points for the
law of large numbers to hold. How should companies, and especially those involved in healthcare, plan
for events like hurricanes and pandemics? Presenters will provide best practice tools and discuss
actuarial initiatives under way that involve tail risk analysis.
You'll be asked to consider risks not currently considered in most pricing exercises. Previous experience
with the topic is not required.
