Description
The success of the consumer-driven healthcare movement depends in large part on arming consumers
with the tools they need to better understand the healthcare system. Often consumer tools present either
too little or too much information to drive patients to the information they need to make informed and
intelligent decisions.
This session will outline essential elements of an effective healthcare consumerism tool set. Highlights of
tool sets in use will be presented, including a review of strengths and weaknesses. Future tool set needs
and information elements will also be discussed. You'll gain insight into what makes an effective tool set.
Whether you come from a health plan background, a consulting background or an employer background,
you should leave with a better sense of the advances needed to continue the improvements in consumer
tools.
