This session focuses on the third leg, forecasting future trends, as the toughest leg of the trend
management tool to fortify one's ability to forecast future trends more accurately.
Panelists will present various approaches to building a system to forecast future medical expense trends,
which draws on the organization's ability to understand historical drivers of trend, as well as the
quantification and monitoring of mitigation action plans and other impacts on trend, such as economic
modeling and emerging technologies.
