Speaker Types
Speakers for concurrent sessions, pre-conference workshops, and experiential sessions are divided into two groups: Peer-to-Peer Facilitators/Speakers and Professional Facilitators/Speakers.
Peer-to-Peer Facilitator/Speakers
Peer-to-Peer Facilitator/Speakers are defined as content experts within the meetings industry. These individuals may be PCMA professional or supplier members and, at times, include non-members. Peer-to-peer speakers do not speak as a primary source of income.
Peer-to-Peer Facilitator/Speaker receive a discounted registration of $375 (approximately 50% off) to the Annual Meeting and are eligible to apply for a travel stipend (up to $300 for domestic travel and up to $1000 for international travel). PCMA has a limited number of travel stipends available on a first come, first serve basis.
Professional Facilitator/Speakers
A Professional Facilitator/Speaker is defined as an individual whose primary source of income is from public speaking and provides a message that is deemed of interest to the meetings and convention industry. A Professional Facilitators/Speaker may also include content experts from outside the meetings industry.
Professional Facilitator/Speakers receive a discounted registration of $375 (approximately 50% off) to the Annual Meeting and receive $1,000 honorarium to offset travel, lodging and incidental expenses. Speakers are not required to register to attend the PCMA Annual Meeting. There is no charge for a 1-day registration on the same day as the scheduled presentation.
In addition to the opportunity to acquire contacts for future business, PCMA will link to Professional Facilitator/Speakers’ web sites from the PCMA Annual Meeting site and offer a one-time mailing to PCMA membership promoting the speaker’s services or products.
