Description
Assessing requirements and defining details of Banner Security is a crucial step in implementing an effective enterprise application. Ensuring that the right people have access to the right functionality within the application makes Banner more effective and increases the productivity of technical and functional staff. A well designed security plan makes it easy evaluate and adapt to changes quickly and efficiently.
This presentation includes procedures and examples which are proven methods of evaluating, implementing and maintaining Banner Security at many schools. While this is not necessarily the only way to accomplish this important undertaking, it is an effective practice honed from experience.
We will cover design of security classes and groups, distributed security and security features new to Banner 8. We will also offer some additional ideas to streamline access requests and approval process as well as efficient analysis of security activity and policies to provide to auditors.
