ADDITIONAL PRESENTER / PANELIST:

LEAD PRESENTER / PANEL ORGANIZER / BOF LEADER :

Description
In response to the challenge of systematically tracking and monitoring undergraduate student progress toward degree completion, the University of North Florida [UNF] developed an Academic Roadmap tool. By utilizing the existing CAPP system and collaborating with academic department chairs and advisors, a Roadmap for every undergraduate major at UNF was created. An eight term sample schedule and critical mile-markers were established for each Roadmap. Reports provide data on students who are off-track resulting in human interaction/intervention by advisors or department designees. Strategies for assessing the effectiveness of the Academic Roadmap tool to facilitate a full-time student's graduation in four years, resulting in improved university-wide retention and graduation rates will also be discussed.

The presenters will describe the Academic Roadmap advising tool, the implementation process and the communication and collaboration efforts needed to undertake this university initiative.
