Description
Fine-Grained Access Control is a topic often shunned by IT staff, and avoided by functional staff. However, even in small increments, it can be used as another layer of security control to ease the potential of data misuse or security breach possibilities on both IT and functional staff. The University of Tennessee Knoxville worked with SGHE to develop several custom Banner forms that permit limited maintenance access to selected student data, using FGAC to control which students a staff member can update. FGAC can also be utilized by your institution without custom forms. In this session, you'll see those custom forms and learn how FGAC was set up. Examples will be Student functional, but FGAC is a universal tool for all Banner products.
