Payment of hourly non-exempt employees can be time consuming, especially with paper timesheets and manual verification of overtime hours. However, there is no reason it has to be that way. This session will focus on using baseline Banner HR and Employee Self Service to design a time entry system that is efficient, provides increased visibility and tracking for employees, their supervisors, and the payroll office, and eliminates the dreaded paper timesheet. Participants will learn how to use recent enhancements to Banner's Web Time Entry system to make online time entry easier than ever. The ability for hourly employees to clock in and out, using the new time clock functionality, will also be discussed. Participants will also learn how to integrate Web Time Entry with Banner HR's automatic FLSA cash overtime calculation process, eliminating the need for the payroll office to manually calculate overtime payments. Finally, examples of training materials and job aids used to help train employees and their supervisors on the time entry system will be presented.
