Track: Student Services
Program Code: 4535
LEAD PRESENTER / PANEL ORGANIZER / BOF LEADER :
Jennifer O'Brien, Product Owner, Banner General and Student Horizon, SunGard Higher Education
Description
The Mass Data Update Utility is a business tool that institutions can use to develop batch updating processes to Banner data. It allows institutions to create their own rules (based on SQL scripts) that can be used to update and insert data for circumstances that are not provided in baseline Banner. Come learn what can be done with the Utility, including:
* Use external sources of data (XML files, CSV files, remote databases)
* Use internal (Banner) sources of data (tables, views, result of PLSQL functions/APIs)
* Create/maintain data in external locations (XML files, TXT files, remote databases)
* Create/maintain data in Banner tables
* Generate new data-storage in a designated area of a Banner database
* Copy, export, and import the set-up metadata of process tasks i.e., reusability of SQL rule codes between different processes.
