Track: Financial Aid
Program Code: 4743
ADDITIONAL PRESENTER / PANELIST:
Pam Eggebrecht, Information Technology Coordinator and Applications Programmer, Purdue University Calumet
LEAD PRESENTER / PANEL ORGANIZER / BOF LEADER :

Description
Our session is designed to share steps we have taken to move from paper to electronic communications with students via Banner Self-Service and emails with respect to required tracking documents, where the student is in the financial aid process and important messages specific to the student's file or awards. We have defined a 10-step financial aid process for our students. Learn how we
1) use messages posted to ROAMESG to let students know where they are in the financial aid process,
2) communicate with students regarding documentation required from them to complete their financial aid files and how this information is presented to students in a similar fashion on our home page (e.g. document, document explanation and instructions),
3) communicate with students via messages posted to ROAMESG,
4) communicate with students via emails as the student moves through the financial aid process,
5) have significantly reduced our S&E costs through the reduction of print forms, print communications, and postage,
6) and learn about the pros and cons of our move toward electronic communications; what has worked, what has not worked, and our next steps.
We currently use Banner Financial Aid 8.8.
