As Banner 8.x, all credit card processing must go through a third party payment vendor. This requires us to create a payment middle tier that redirects the Banner users to our payment application, TouchNet UPay, for the credit card payment, and also brings back the payment transaction information into Banner. Our payment middle tier is responsible for redirecting the Banner users to the proper UPay site, posting required information to UPay, receiving payment transaction information from UPay, calling the Banner Payment Gateway web service to add a transaction or report an error, and redirecting the users to the Banner success or failure page.
