Description
Presenters from two campuses within the Purdue University system will discuss ODS/reporting challenges and successes encountered by each. The main campus went live in 2008, therefore faculty/staff needed to learn Banner as well as the ODS and a new reporting tool, Cognos. The Fort Wayne campus had years of experience with Banner but not with Cognos as the reporting tool. Expertise was shared between the campuses as well as with other campuses within the Purdue system.

Hear our story of a successful rollout of reporting across our main campus; from pre-implementation to two years post go-live. We will share our philosophy re: who writes reports (functional v IT), the division of responsibilities among core offices, colleges and IT staff as well as our training model for the Cognos tool, the ODS, and business knowledge. The technical as well as functional perspective will be shared.

After having been live for two years, we have developed a governance structure and prioritization process. Successes, challenges, lessons learned will be shared as well as plans for the next several years - which include the implementation of the EDW in early 2011. Our overall business intelligence goals include even more access to student data and analytics.
