This session will cover two aspects in particular. The first topic discussed will be a recent industry mortality experience study by gender, underwriting class, attained age, policy year and/or cause of death, as well as the mortality improvement, contrasted across various countries in the region and to the United States. The second topic will cover changes in financial reporting (IFRS), solvency requirements and pricing practices, particularly in Korea and Japan, and implications for actuaries, products and insurance companies there.
