Description
This interactive session will focus on challenging small cell lung cancer cases that will be reviewed by a multidisciplinary expert panel.  Controversial issues regarding the optimal timing, dose/fractionation, and volume of radiation will be analyzed for both limited stage and extensive disease.  Relevant clinical trials will be discussed, as well as the role of surgery in selected cases.  At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to do the following: 1. Discuss the management of small cell lung cancer. 2.Discuss controversial issues regarding the optimal timing, dose fractionation and treatment volume for both limited stage and extensive stage. 3. Recognize the indication for prophylactic cranial irradiation.
