Description
The effective facility infection prevention and control program is comprised of many components and interventions that can reduce MRSA risk to residents, healthcare providers, staff, and visitors. The presenter will discuss strategies and tools that can be used for MRSA management in the long-term care facility. The successful management of MRSA in LTC will ensure the best possible outcomes for all residents, and may prevent the negative impact that MRSA infections can have on quality of life for all residents of the facility.;Objectives: • Outline the elements of a successful program to manage MRSA in LTC facilities • Provide evidence-based recommendations regarding patient placement and transmission-based precautions for residents of LTC facilities • Review tools and resources useful in LTC facility MRSA management programs
