Description
There are nearly 12,000 babies born daily in the US. During a disaster, hospitals may not be available or desirable for this population. The presenter will discuss how disaster planning can generate a safe alternative for providing care during public health emergencies.;Objectives: • Recognize the impact of a public health emergency on pregnant, birthing, post partum women and their newborns • Identify issues and explore strategies for planning, pre-evention training, and service delivery to pregnant and birthing women and their newborns • Describe the psychological impact of a disaster and identify strategies to assess and enhance resiliency
