The presenter will highlight the common concerns that anesthesia departments share with the Infection Prevention and control department and the unique infection control problems and solutions related to operative environment. Strategies for developing closer working relationships with anesthesia department personnel and promoting collaboration with infectious disease specialists will be reviewed.;Objectives: • Review strategies for promoting physician "buy-in" • Identify the various members of a typical anesthesia dept. and the role that each member plays in preventing HAIs • Discuss the infection control problems unique to Anesthesia Depts • Illustrate how to use Anesthesia Dept contacts to disseminate information to the other departments throughout your institution
