Description
In light of increasing demands to limit Staphylococcus aureus infections, providers and infection control committees have increasingly considered using decolonization strategies. The presenter will review the evidence surrounding the use of decolonization to prevent the transmission of and infection with Staphylococcus aureus. The discussion from an experts meeting on decolonization held at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be summarized. At the end of the session attendees should have a better understanding of the use of these strategies and the evidence behind their use.;Objectives: *Understand the evidence surrounding the use of S. aureus decolonization in community settings. *Describe current consensus among experts concerning the use of S. aureus decolonization
