During this session, the presenter will build the case for zero tolerance for healthcare-associated infections. Challenges of creating an environment that fosters cultural change and how to overcome barriers will be discussed. Dr. Granato will describe how one hospital used multidisciplinary teams to redesign the process of central-line insertion and care. The presentation will also review the clinical data supporting the use of best practices and how organizations can extend these practices to large numbers of healthcare professionals.;Objectives: *Identify the key components required for a successful HAI elimination program *Relate best practices that are associated with a successful HAI elimination program
