Scott Brand is Principal Scientist Global Data and BioInformatics for QPS. He has 30 years experience in science and the pharmaceutical industry and has a PhD in biology and carried out research in quantitative biology. His work focuses on harmonizing data management across QPS's global sites.

Cal Collins is CEO of OpenClinica, LLC. Since founding the company in 2006, he has spearheaded the development of OpenClinica, the world’s leading open source EDC system. Mr. Collins is a graduate of Harvard University.

Description
This session will provide actual examples of using the smartphone for clinical data collection and experiences with the quality of the data. It will also provide insight into the benefits and risks in relying on the Smartphone as an EDC instrument.
