Description
How can career services offices effectively prepare African American students for the work force? What expectations do we hold (or not hold) for our African American students? How can employers increase and maintain the number of African American employees in their work forces while understanding and meeting the needs of those employees? Explore the research on African Americans in the work force and get an overview of statistics on the hiring of African American candidates. Identify stereotypes and challenges that African Americans face in the work. Discuss strategies to support students through these challenges and learn how to develop concrete strategies and policies regarding diversity issues within the organization.
