Description
How do career services professionals address the career planning needs of students within an ethnically and culturally diverse student population? Discover how the office of career services at a small private university partnered with the multicultural student affairs office to overcome barriers presented by socioeconomic status. Explore how we build relationships and offer support to American Indian, African American, Asian American, and Latino students who might be reluctant to use career services. Participants will develop tangible strategies that foster a positive and productive partnership, specifically with regard to an annual retreat, new student orientation, partnering with local businesses, and mentoring programs.
