Description
Donald A. Casella researched the eight dimensions of career centers: Purpose, Typical Name, Target Groups, Theory Base/Career Planning, Placement, Outcomes, (How Success is Measured), Desired Background for Professionals, and Environment. Later, Youngblood, Nichols, and Wilson expanded on this model, introducing their "Adaption of Casella's Career Center Paradigm," which tracked the structure and delivery of career services and career centers from the 1960s through the year 2000. Examine the historical structures of career centers through the framework of Casella's career center paradigm. Share the results of a survey of college career services professionals and explore an adaptation of the Casella paradigm highlighting emerging trends between 2000 and 2010 and our predictions for future trends between 2010 and 2015. We will include students' perspectives, employment trends, and the impact of emerging technologies.
